Celebrate A Stepping Stone Parents

Last night, it was my great pleasure to join our parents, board and children at the 2014 Parent Celebration.  The parents of our Stepping Stone children were honored for their school-year long participation in adult education, parenting classes, time with their children in the classroom as well as participating in our home visiting program.

In order to stay in our program and be honored, parents must keep an 80% attendance rate for all these obligations.  Each year, the parents are recognized early in May for their achievements related to these obligations.

This year, Principal Lori Weiss from Westwood Elementary welcomed everyone and then  the preschool children sang a song.  Executive Director Cindy Gattorna gave a short address about how the stepping stone of education cannot be ever be taken from them.   Then Teacher Jennifer Cary presented certificates to her parents.

The finale was another number from our beautiful children!
